XIXth Century :

1818 : The Gautret family, well established in the maritime region of Saintongue since 1780, acquires the Château de Jonzac.



1847 : Creation of the “eaux de vie” negociant business by Jules Gautret. The newly built distillery and cellars see the start of production and the sales of Cognac under the exclusive brand “Château de Jonzac”. In the years that follow the business develops well with export sales in Northern Europe and Latin America.


1895 : Gold Medal at the famous Bordeaux Universal Exposition.


1897 : Honorary Medal at the Brussels Universal exposition.



XXth Century :

1959 : The family business is taken over by a union of cooperative eaux de vie producers.

1995 : First deliveries of Jules Gautret branded Cognac to Germany and Belgium.

1997 : Canada, for the first time imports a Pineau des Charentes from the Jules Gautret brand.




XXIth Century :

2000 : The Jules Gautret brand enters the new millenium with the creation of a special XO “3rd Millenium”.

2002 : First exports of Jules Gautret Cognac to Russia.

2005 : First exports of Jules Gautret Cognac to Holland.

2005 : With the help C&D, Jules Gautret for the first times opens the market in Asia with its Cognac.

2008 : First expots to the UK market for both Pineau des Charentes and Cognac.

2010 : First exports of Jules Gautret brand to the Ukraine.

2017 : To celebrate the 170th Anniversary of Jules Gautret, a special “Grande Champagne Heritage” decanter is created. A scrictly limited production impossed by its composition of an exeptional blend of rare vintages.
